Cindy Crawford is the OG supermodel.

The model, actress and mother of two, is stunning – even now.

She’s 53 years old and has clearly changed since her modelling hey day. She’s not magic after all.

Her face is thinner and she has some fine lines and wrinkles. Her eyes are not quite as huge as they once were – turns out gravity affects us all, sooner or later.

But Cindy looks amazing all the same. One of the reasons she stills looks so good is that she has adjusted her beauty routine to suit her needs, which, as we said above, have changed in recent years.

Today, Cindy wears less makeup than ever before. She is adamant this is the way to look your best when you’ve hit a certain age.

“I’ve found as I’ve gotten older I wear way less makeup,” Cindy revealed in a clip for Vogue.

“I would say that’s the biggest evolution for me. It’s kind of counter intuitive but that also means that taking care of your skin is important because you’re not covering it up with makeup.”

Taking care of your skin means cleansing both morning and night, toning too, and applying a quality moisturiser. Your day time moisturiser should include a high-level SPF also. You can add a serum into this routine too if you have specific skin concerns such as pigmentation spots or visible pores.

When skin is in gorgeous condition you can skip heavy makeup and instead let your perfect features do the talking. Cindy does highlight her eyes with a little mascara and pencil in any missing patches in those famously-arched brows. She occasionally wears lipstick too.

Otherwise – she prefers a natural look.

Not all of us have aged quite as well as Cindy however. If your makeup free face isn’t quite where you’d like it to be you might like to consider an anti-wrinkle injectable or a dermal filler to plump up any obvious hollow areas.

A light touch is optimal, however, or you risk looking un-natural which defeats the purpose altogether. When you book in for a treatment ensure you tell your practitioner this, says cosmetic injector Soheila Jadidi, of Diamond Aesthetics.

“A natural and youthful look is the most flattering,” says Soheila.

A quick tip for choosing an injector? Have a sneaky peek at their own face. Do they look over-done? Then perhaps think twice about booking in.
