Brittany Hockley is the pretty brunette finalist from The Bachelor season six who had her heart broken by Nick Cummins.
Hailing from Port Macquarie the 30-year-old is a radiographer and aspiring actress/model.
With a love for travel, dogs and adventure she was hoping she would make a perfect match for the former Wallabies player, yet Nick failed to see a future with Brittany dumping her at the last minute.
Before going on the show, Brittany travelled to over 50 countries with her sister Sherri and in 2012 she created a show reel of herself presenting a getaway style travel programme.
While on The Bachelor, Brittany admitted that she had been in love once but had her heart broken and since that relationship had been single for a number of years.
Since leaving the show, the leggy hopeful has remained single. Brittany was one of the first contestants to catch Nick’s eye and the first to bag a single date.
They became close when the couple kissed in the pool and Brittany became an early frontrunner from the start.
Brittany admitted she had fallen in love with Nick during the show and became notably jealous and upset when she found out he had dated another contestant Cassandra Wood before going on the show.
It was highly anticipated that Brittany would win Nick’s heart, yet in a shock finale Nick decided that neither she or other finalist Sophie Tieman would go on to stay with him.
After the show, Brittany posted a heartfelt Instagram post sharing the journey with her 95K fans.
“Living it the first time was so hard, but reliving it tonight was something else. After a very long and incredible journey, I found myself standing at the end with a full heart and excited at the prospect of a happy future with Nick,” Brittany began.
“I believe everything happens for a reason, and by this point I truly believed I was meant to come here and meant to meet Nick. From the very beginning we connected on so many levels, some you saw, and some you unfortunately didn’t. I was in disbelief and thought surely this was the reason I hadn’t met anyone in a long time,” she continued.
“But that is not the case. Unfortunately it is not my time. I gave it my all and was always true to myself, honest and risked it for the biscuit. I wore my heart on my sleeve and I’m proud of myself for putting myself out there. Whilst this is not my happy ending, I made the most beautiful friends, and I am so grateful to have had Soph there with me at the end. She is truly my rock.
“I’m leaving with a heavy heart, but I’d like to say to all the girls that I shared this adventure with, thank you for the journey, the laughs and the memories, they will last a lifetime.
“I love love and I have to believe this is just setting me on the path I’m supposed to be on.
You can be sure I’ll keep on searching,” she concluded.
