Blake Colman: Bachelor’s Brooke dumped me for a woman

The former 'Bachelorette' contestant spoke out.

You might remember Blake Colman from Sophie Monk‘s season of The Bachelorette and for his involvement in Bachelor In Paradise, but now the Perth reality star has faced backlash for comment’s he made about The Bachelor contestant Brooke Blurton

On Wednesday night’s episode, 23-year-old Brooke revealed that her romantic history involves both men and women, but she prefers not to be labelled. Nick Cummins took the news well, making it seem like no big deal, but thousands of viewers were vocal about the way Network Ten played out the reveal. Fans of the reality dating show criticised the network for “queerbaiting” by releasing promos teasing “Brooke’s big secret.”

29-year-old Blake took to his Instagram – that boasts 18.3k followers – after the episode aired to reveal that he once dated Brooke but that she went “full lesbian” after their relationship ended.

According to Pedestrian TV, Blake posted to his Instagram story:

“Is now the right time to tell you that I was dating Brooke during the exact moment she decided to turn full lesbian? I literally have no hope with women. Just for the record she is a dope chick and a really good human. But guys, you have not felt pain and confusion until a girl leaves you for a girl.”

Their relationship has been no secret, with Brooke revealing to Woman’s Day in August:

“We used to see each other but it didn’t really work out,”

“I don’t like to judge, but I got an eerie feeling from him.”

Following backlash for his use of “full lesbian,” Blake once again took to Instagram to reveal more about the brief relationship. He revealed through yet another disappearing Instagram Story post that the pair dated “like four years ago”, and that his comment “are being taken out of context.”

He also revealed that the proper context for what happened was that Brooke was seemingly at a point of her life where she was “obviously figuring things out as any woman or man should do at that age.”

“There is no need for everyone to focus on ‘what sexuality she is’, in our society in the present its a joke when everyone is trying to pin point someones sexuality like Brookes (sic)” he added.

Brooke has been a fan favourite to win over the Honey Badger, but recent reports claim that Brittany Hockley is set to be the winner. However, there are also rumours that if Brittany has won Nick’s heart, the pair have seemingly already split.
