Georgie Gardner gets emotional as she discusses her ‘traumatic’ miscarriages

And reveals the one comment she found 'offensive'.

Today Show co-host Georgie Gardner became emotional as she bravely discussed her heartbreaking miscarriages on the breakfast program.

The 47-year-old host, who is mother to daughter Bronte, 12, and son Angus, 10, with husband Tim Baker, miscarried once before at an undisclosed time and a second time at 14 weeks when trying for her third child.

Georgie entered the devastating topic after Candice Warner detailed her miscarriage following her husband David Warner’s ball-tampering scandal.

The television personality struggled to hold back tears as she explained she desperately searched for ‘answers’ after her losses.

Georgie said, ‘I wanted reasons, I wanted answers, I wanted to know why. I actually had a traumatic experience before I miscarried my first and immediately made that association.’

Gardner added that she was left wondering if her ‘traumatic experience’ had caused her to miscarry, but ‘medical advice is that there is no correlation’.

She said: ‘One of the common things I came across, having miscarried twice myself, is people immediately asking, ‘How far along were you? What week were you?’

‘As if to almost suggest that if it was the first trimester, or not far into the second trimester, it almost wasn’t a baby. I found that incredibly offensive.’

The host adds that people who consoled her during those difficult times were simply trying their best, but weren’t the most successful.

‘People mean well, but they just don’t know how to tackle it,’ she admitted. ‘I was very vocal, but I found that quite a lot of people were uncomfortable with that.’
