Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle Sr, is reportedly ‘utterly furious’ over claims Sharon Osbourne made on US program The Talk, urging him to ‘get clean.’
In a segment on the daytime show, Osbourn told Markle over camera that he needs to ‘stop embarrassing’ his daughter and has a ‘bad drinking problem’ to address.
However, Markle’s friends claim he isn’t a drinker, only consuming the ‘odd glass of wine’ with a meal.
The 65-year-old television host said, ‘It is so obvious that you have a bad drinking problem, and it’s obvious that over the last few years, you haven’t been close with your daughter.
‘So all of this ‘we were, we used to be’, it’s like… nah.’
She adds, ‘Get yourself clean and sober and then come back.’
‘She is so dignified you should try to give a little bit of that dignity for her,’ Osbourne also said, before noting the Duchess of Sussex must ‘feel so humiliated, so embarrassed by her father.’
The 74-year-old former lighting director’s friends told The Sun, ‘He’s shocked about these claims.’
‘It’s totally untrue and he’s been through enough with his recent health issues without people making these sorts of allegations.
Osbourne’s claims come following Thomas Markle’s allegations that his daughter is ‘terrified’ and he can ‘see it through her smile.’
On top of Markle’s claims, Meghan’s half-sister Samantha has publicly stated that if her father were to pass away she would place all the blame on ‘Meg.’
