These Hollywood starlets go head-to-head.

Just two years ago Jennifer Lawrence was Hollywood’s darling as she walked the Oscars red carpet as a nominee for her role in Joy but this year, the actress had zero nominations to her name.

Having taken out the main gong in 2013 for Silver Linings Playbook at just 22, J. Law’s career was on the rise.

But now there is one word on everyone’s lips – Margot.

‘Jen definitely feels threatened by Margot Robbie,’ a source tells New Idea. ‘A few years ago she could do no wrong – she was receiving award after award, her movies were huge successes and everyone loved her down-to-earth candour. Now she feels like Margot is stealing her spotlight.’

Indeed, running into Margot at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards late last year, Jen revealed the Aussie star’s beauty left her feeling insecure.

‘Margot Robbie is so pretty that I think I should go home,’ said Jen on the red carpet. ‘I just got a glimpse of her and I just want to go. I quit…I feel a wave of depression.’

While Jen tried to play off her comments as tongue-in-cheek, sources reveal they come from a place of deep jealousy – with many claiming the actress’ star is fading thanks to her brash personality, controversial love life and box-office flops.

‘[Jen’s] silly outbursts and her upfront personality are starting to turn more of her fans off rather than on,’ noted one of many recent articles. ‘She’s faced more criticism this year than praise, and a Hollywood career can be so short that all it takes is a few wrong steps for it to be game over.

’As for Margot, she’s been making all the right moves, winning over the industry with her Aussie charm and landing her first Oscar nod for I, Tonya.

‘Margot is absolutely incredible,’ gushes her Suicide Squad co-star Jared Leto. ‘One of the best actresses of her generation and honestly one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.’

Fuelling Jen’s fire are reports they were both being considered to play murdered actress Sharon Tate in a Quentin Tarantino flick about the 1969 Manson Family murders.

‘[Jennifer’s] not pretty enough to play Sharon,’ Sharon’s sister Debra Tate told TMZ. ‘My pick would be Margot simply because of her physical beauty and even the way she carries herself is similar to Sharon.’

Now, with Page Six reporting Margot has been offered the lead role and Jen offered an unnamed part, the feud has turned personal.

‘For Jennifer to go head-to-head with Margot and lose a role, is a huge blow to her ego,’ reveals a source. ‘She already had it in for Margot, but this has taken it to a new level. Jen’s worked hard to get to the top, and she’s not going to let someone take her Queen of Hollywood crown without a fight.’
