Johnny Ruffo: My tough cancer battle news

The star confesses doctors haven't been able to give him a definite prognosis

Former Home And Away favourite Johnny Ruffo has shared emotional new details about his fight against brain cancer, revealing he has made a will and suggesting doctors have as yet been unable to give him a definite prognosis.

The star, 29, who discovered he had a brain tumour earlier this year after being struck down by an agonising headache, told Studio 10 this morning that he is taking his battle as it comes.

‘With the prognosis, they can never really give you an absolute definitive answer because they just don’t know,’ Johnny confessed of his battle.

‘You know, the chemo may work – it may have excellent results – but then again, it may not.

‘I’ve already got a will, I had that a long time ago.’

The star is refusing to be beaten down by his situation, and is approaching his battle with wisdom and grace.

‘I am more or less taking it one day at a time – you just don’t know what is going to happen,’ he said.

‘Hopefully, with the radiotherapy that I’ve already had, that will kill it all and I’ll be back here hosting with you guys!’

Complimented by host Sarah Harris on his mature outlook – the star said ‘It’s like you’ve grown up 30 years!’ – Johnny agreed he’s now a very different man, smiling, ‘It was about time I think.’

Johnny then joined the hosts in discussing a host of other subjects – and sharing a few laughs – proving that whatever he’s going through, he’s still the guy we’ve always loved. Get well soon, Johnny.
