Lisa and Andy thought the first half of the renovation was a disaster.

After overcommitting to their design and taking on the 48-hour fix up, the South Australian couple thought they were in struggle town.

That was until the last day of the renovation when not only did Lisa wake up sick, but the duo discovered they were over budget and all work was forced to stop.

“I woke up really hot,” Lisa said.

“My head is on fire.”

After being informed by build supervisor Matt that they’ve run out of money, Lisa and Andy finally admit that they aren’t going to be able to deliver a finished room for the 48-hour fix up.

“This is the first time where we are not confident, we are going to get finished,” Andy said.

“We need to figure out a way to get some money back.”

Overbudget and in need of a trade for the 48-hour fix up room to finish the ceiling Lisa and Andy decide to return the bedside tables. It’s a risk as LLB did not like them in original judgement.

According to Lisa, she believes the reason they fell behind in the competition was due to their laid-back nature.

“We had to keep reminding ourselves that it was a competition,” she tells New Idea.

“We just wanted to do the best that we can to everyone’s home but this is actually a competition, and we’re all fighting it out for a quarter of a mill.”
