The countdown to Ziggy and Brody’s big day is finally over! In a not-to-be-missed week of the Aussie drama, the hugely popular Summer Bay couple walk down the aisle in front of their family and friends.

But while tears of joy will be shed during the fairytale nuptials, devastating heartache may also be on the cards.

As Sophie Dillman (Ziggy) and Jackson Heywood (Brody) exclusively reveal, viewers will be stunned by the unexpected turn of events.

‘There’s definitely drama to come,’ says Sophie. ‘It’s absolutely one to watch.’

As fans will know, Ziggy’s beloved mother Maggie (Kestie Morassi) is currently waging a brave battle against lymphoma.

With her condition rapidly deteriorating, the mum has made the heart-wrenching decision to stop cancer treatment.

As the wedding approaches, Maggie feels more certain than ever that this was the right decision. Husband Ben (Rohan Nichol), on the other hand, couldn’t feel more differently, but decides to keep his thoughts to himself until after the wedding.

‘It’s been quite a stressful time for Ziggy, especially with her mother’s illness,’ says Sophie.

However, Maggie’s concern is only for her daughter when Ziggy makes a shock revelation to her at the farmhouse the night before the wedding – she feels as though she’s drowning!

Terrified that her entire life has been mapped out for her, a distraught Ziggy confesses that she is unsure whether she can go through with the wedding.

Asking her mother if she suffered cold feet before her own wedding, Ziggy feels even worse when Maggie admits that she didn’t. Yet Maggie urges Ziggy to sleep on it – she may feel more certain in the morning.

When day breaks – and Ziggy receives a text message from Brody, she makes a decision – she’s doing this!

‘Everyone in the Bay is there to watch them get married,’ says Sophie.

As a stunning Ziggy walks down the aisle on the arm of her father Ben, with Mason (Orpheus Pledger) acting as his brother’s best man, there’s not a dry eye in the crowd.

‘It’s just beautiful,’ says Sophie, who in real life is happily in a long-term relationship with her rugby coach partner Ben.

‘The National Park where we filmed the wedding is incredible, and the sun is shining. It’s really gorgeous. It felt like we were floating above the world.’

Former registered nurse turned TV star Sophie loved every moment of her on-screen wedding. Not to mention trying on an array of fabulous bridal gowns in the lead-up!

‘I was like: “Yay! It’s not myreal wedding, but I’m going shopping for a wedding dress!”

I definitely got in the spirit of it,’ she says, with a laugh. ‘I’m really nosy so I’d also be asking: “What flowers will Sophie be carrying, what colours will we have and will there be fairy lights?”’

But will the honeymoon be over before it’s even begun for Ziggy and Brody?

While Sophie’s lips are sealed, she does say this: ‘You can never have smooth sailing in Summer Bay. You’ll have to stay tuned!’
