Tristan Thompson is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the first team that the legendary LeBron James was signed with. After playing college basketball and winning a bevy of awards, including Most Valuable Player and Big 12 Freshmen of the Year honours, he signed his rookie contract with the Cavaliers in 2011. So far, some of his biggest career highlights include winning an NBA Championship with the Cavaliers in 2016 and representing his country in the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
But for those of us who aren’t die-hard NBA fans, we first met Tristan when he began dating Khloe Kardashian. Rumours that they were seeing together surfaced in August 2016, when Tristan and Khloe were spotted leaving Bootsy Bellows, a Los Angeles nightclub, within minutes of each other. During the US Weekly Keeping Up With The Kardashians Ten Year Anniversary Special, Khloe revealed how her and Tristan were introduced to each other. Speaking to Ryan Seacrest, Khloe spoke about being set up on a blind date with tall sports star.
“I was put on a blind date with Tristan… Brandon Jennings, who’s a basketball player, he’s a friend of mine and Malika’s, and he’s like, ‘You’re such a good girl, I want to introduce you to someone.’ I was at the Bel-Air Hotel. He came to the dinner, cause I didn’t want to go on a blind date, so Brandon kind of ambushed the blind date. So I had a bunch of people, and he brought him, and we just connected.”
In September 2016, Khloe and Tristan were snapped on holiday together in Mexico and shortly afterwards they made their first public appearance together at Flo Rida’s birthday party in Miami. The pair quickly became inseparable, and Khloe introduced Tristan to the rest of her famous family when they attended a concert of her brother-in-law Kanye West’s back in 2017.

By April 2017, Tristan and Khloe were discussing the possibility of having children. Khloe told ES Magazine that whilst she wasn’t in a rush to become a mother, she was very much looking forward to the process. “I would love to have a family,” the Good American co-founder said. “We’ve talked about it … I know for a fact that he would be an impeccable father. I definitely want to be a mom. But I don’t put the pressure on it. It’s not like, ‘The clock is ticking.’ I feel in my soul it will happen.” Khloe also made it clear to her that she didn’t feel the need to become Tristan Thompson’s wife in order to feel complete. In August 2017, Khloe told Mail On Sunday’s You magazine “I’m in the best relationship I’ve ever been in and it doesn’t take a ring for me to feel that way.”

On 20 December 2017, Khloe and Tristan announced that they were expecting a baby together. Khloe’s loyal fans were beside themselves for the reality-tv star, who has been open about her ongoing struggles with fertility. However, this wasn’t Tristan’s first time at the rodeo! Birthday: 12 December 2016. Little Prince will turn 3 at the end of this year.
Mother: Prince’s mother is Tristan Thompson’s ex, Jordan Craig. Prior to falling pregnant, Jordan frequently posted pictures of herself attending Cleveland Cavaliers games on her Instagram account, @alleyesonjordyc
Jordan and Tristan haven’t made the reasons for their split clear, but rumours are it was because Tristan was cheating on her with Khloe. This does seem plausible, because the dates of Jordan’s pregnancy and Tristan and Khloe confirming their relationship are very close together. Khloe and Tristan went public with their relationship in September, and by October Jordan was holding her baby shower – which was attended by her cousin Eniko Hart, the wife of comedian Kevin Hart.
According to TMZ, Tristan’s name was not on his son’s birth certificate. This may not be as heavy as it sounds though, this could have been simply for legal reasons. In the state of California, the father has to be present at the hospital in order to be named on the initial birth certificate, and it’s possible to add the father’s name in at a later time. Both Tristan and Jordan Craig tend to keep social posts of their son Prince to a minimum, which is completely understandable. Mother: Khloe Kardashian. True’s birth was marred by controversy, after news broke that Tristan had been filmed making out with another woman in a night club. The news spread like wildfire, leaving a pregnant Khloe distraught.

True was welcomed into the world barely 24 hours after the news went viral, so new mum Khloe decided just to focus solely on the wellbeing of her new baby girl. In June, Khloe publicly spoke about her decision to stay with Tristan despite the scandal. “You have no knowledge of what goes on in our household or the enormous rebuilding this takes to even coexist,” Kardashian replied to a fan via Twitter. “I’m proud of my strength. I appreciate your opinion and I hope you hold that same opinion to everyone else who has stayed in situations.” But in February, it came to light that Jordyn Woods, a long-time friend of the Kardashian-Jenner family and a model for Good American, had been spotted kissing Tristan at a house party.
