It’s been four days since the Logies and three since Sunrise host David Koch ignited a war of words with Married At First Sight‘s Martha Kalifatidis after he revealed the MAFS contestant elbowed him in the ribs on the red carpet.
Kochie’s co-host Samantha Armytage has broken her silence on the feud, telling Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa she’s pretty much finished talking about the subject.
WATCH MAFS Martha calls Sam Armytage a ‘bully’:
Speaking live on air on Thursday morning, Sam dished on Australian comedian Tom Gleeson’s shock Gold Logie win and how she’s become a target for trolls since publicly supporting her Channel Seven colleague in ‘elbow gate’.
“Kochie accused her of elbowing him on the red carpet. They didn’t even get an invite to the Logies,” Wippa began.
“Well look… I won’t throw any shade at Martha, but let’s not give it any more oxygen – because the fifteen minutes [of fame] has just gone on, and on,” Sam laughed.
Asked if Kochie had embellished the story of Martha elbowing him to get in front of the camera, Sam was diplomatic in her reply.
“Look, it was just unfortunate. Have you ever been on these red carpets? They’re pushy.
“And have you ever been on these red carpets with a reality star?” she joked.
In the aftermath of the Logies, Martha branded Sam, newsreader Natalie Barr and sports reporter Mark Beretta “bullies” for supporting their colleague Kochie, addressing the incident in a YouTube video filmed at her Melbourne home with boyfriend Michael Brunelli.
The Kim Kardashian lookalike defended herself and took a swipe at Kochie for “shaming” her to Australian viewers on national breakfast TV.
“Just when I had built myself back up after the tumultuous time on MAFS, you [David Koch and Sam Armytage] brought it all crashing down.”
In her social media post, Martha said she did not remember seeing Kochie on the red carpet, as “it was packed”, but acknowledged there could have been an accidental bump.
