Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden has credited wife Nicole Richie for helping him recover from a broken home.
Despite divorce rumours, Joel says starting a family with Nicole changed his life for the better.
‘When you grow up in a broken home, there’s something about finally find love and security in your family,’ he told PEOPLE.
Adding, he’s ‘grateful for our families and the love we have in our lives.
‘I give my wife a lot of credit. She’s an incredible partner and really supportive.’
The dedication to his wife comes a week after the couple announced their vow not to have more children. Instead, they want to work on fixing their relationship.
Joel and his brother Benji are currently promoting their first album in six years, titled Youth Authority.
Revealing the inspiration behind their new single, Life Can’t Get Much Better, Joel said, ‘There are moments where you feel like life is perfect, and you want to stay in that moment forever, and that’s how we feel: really blessed and lucky.’
