Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, 43, has given Meghan Markle and Prince Harry the most thoughtful gift to congratulate them on the birth of the baby boy, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
The father-of-five knows first hand that the early days after a baby is born are often the most frantic, and so he’s created a delicious congratulations cake in honour of the Sussexes.
…we’re just not sure the royal couple will get to taste it!
The TV chef posted his well wishes to the Duke and Duchess on his Instagram account, along with a gorgeous ‘Royal Roulade’ he’s created especially for the occasion.
“A massive happy congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex @sussexroyal on the arrival of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor!” Jamie said.
“To celebrate I’ve created this gorgeous Royal Roulade ❤️. It’s the timeless classic of strawberries, sponge and fresh vanilla cream, all rolled up into a real showstopper.
“Perfect for a very special afternoon tea! Big love from all the Olivers x #BabySussex I’ve just posted the recipe on jamieoliver.com or just click my bio. big love xx”
The edible ‘gift’ follows Jamie’s confession that his offer to cater the Duke and Duchess’s wedding for free last year were ignored by the royal family.
“I did actually write and say if they want the food sorted I would bring the best of British and American chefs together to do the catering,” Jamie confessed on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch show.
“I didn’t get a reply. That is a true story.”
