As the world awaits for the birth of baby Sussex, this rather unusual name has been suggested by bookies.
According to British bookies Ladbrokes, if the couple have a girl they may chose the name Ivy.
Alex Apati told The Express that ‘the odds on Ivy had been slashed from 20/1 to 6/4 this afternoon.’
“We’ve taken more than a flurry on Ivy this afternoon and have been forced to cut the odds to 6/4 as a result,” the Ladbrokes spokesperson said.
“It won’t be long before we suspend betting altogether,” he added.
The anticipation around this royal brith is heightened after the couple announced they would be keeping their arrival private.
“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private,” the statement read.
“The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
