Home and Away is one of Australia’s longest running and most popular TV series.

Thorne spends much of his introductory episodes searching for his long lost mother and sister Bella, who he was reunited with on-screen in October 2018.

Later, they sleep together but agree that the liaison was just a once off as Colby is reluctant to embark on a relationship while he is focused on searching for his family.
But it soon becomes apparent the pair cannot deny their feelings for one another and they continue to date.
Their relationship is threatened by Ebony Harding (played by Cariba Heine) who is out for revenge on Colby for shooting her brother.
Ebony manipulates the couple and when Jasmine grows jealous of Ebony’s flirting, they have an argument which ultimately leads to their break up.
Colby goes on to enjoy a relationship with fellow police officer Chelsea Campbell (played by former Neighbours star Ashleigh Brewer) with the pair becoming engaged on-screen in late 2018.
On playing the character of Colby, Franklin said: “Playing a cop is fun – it’s been so beautiful finding the human within the officer.”
Franklin also told Tamara Cullen of TV Week magazine: “I believe that any character has to come from a reality within myself. We’ve both had traumas in our past – as we all have – so I try to bring as much of myself to the role [as I can].”
