Home and Away: Tori’s heartbreaking baby news

Tori's road to parenthood is proving very difficult.

Back from the city after undergoing a series of fertility tests, Summer Bay doctor Tori (Penny McNamee) is more determined than ever to fulfil her dream of becoming a mother.

‘Tori has made no secret of the fact that she would love to have children,’ says Penny. ‘Ultimately, she assumed, she would find a partner and they would have kids together. However, so far, a long-lasting relationship has evaded her, and so she has only recently started considering IVF.’

After a nervous wait, Tori confides the results to her close friend Leah (Ada Nicodemou).

Unfortunately, her ovarian reserves are low – she simply can’t afford to wait any longer to begin IVF treatment.

‘Tori is shocked to discover just how difficult it is to have a baby through IVF,’ says Penny. ‘What initially began as an exciting and empowered decision has quickly changed tack. Tori feels sad and frustrated that she can’t have children easily.’

Meanwhile, Leah’s response may also take Tori by surprise.

’Leah is wary,’ reveals Penny.

‘She knows only too well how hard it is being a single mum and she is not shy in telling Tori so.’
