Couple throw world’s ‘most hipster’ wedding

It may not sound like everyones idea of the perfect wedding

Australian couple Kathryn Kleu and Michael Malone tied the knot in what’s being called the world’s ‘most hipster’ wedding.

The nature-loving couple from the Blue Mountains said ‘I do’ in a Tasmanian forest under a frame made of tree trunks that was decorated with wild flowers and foliage.

They wanted an organic and beautiful wedding, so worked hard to ensure they did. They made a lot of the things for the wedding themselves, recycled items and even baked their own wedding cake.

‘It was super relaxed, because we had a lot of people flying in from the mainland it was basically about seeing family and friends and showing them where we’d been for the last two years,’ Ms Kleu told Daily Mail Australia.

‘We weren’t really into being the centre of attention and just wanted something that was a nice, chilled out celebration.

Barefoot for most of the wedding, Kathryn wore an Alice McCall long-sleeved cotton wedding dress, and Michael wore rolled up chinos, an open white shirt and tan suspenders.

A burger truck supplied the food, while a friend’s band played throughout the evening.

Michael and Kat’s family also surprised her by flying her uncle over from South Africa.

After two months touring through Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, Kat and Michael plan to settle in the Blue Mountains.
