Teacher shares moving tribute to Bedford massacre victim Charlotte Harvey

She was remembered as a popular girl.

On September 3, a family of five were murdered at their Bedford home in Perth’s north-east. Anthony Harvey has since been charged with the murders.

One of the victims, three-year-old Charlotte Harvey, has been remembered at her preschool as a “popular girl with the big bubbly personality.”

Shirley Oswald, one of Charlotte’s teachers at Ballajura’s Kingfisher Park pre-school, has added Charlotte’s preschool class photo to the memorial outside the Harvey home alongside a handwritten note that read, “Your laughter and smile forever in our hearts.”

Speaking to 9 News, Ms Oswald revealed, “Everyday she arrived it was smiles and laughter,”

“We said she was going to grow up to be an ambulance because she sang so loud.”

Charlotte’s absence has not gone unnoticed by her fellow classmates.

“They’re all asking where she is and it’s so senseless, it’s too hard to process especially in my field where those children are so precious and to have them taken away is so unfair,” said Ms Oswald.

Charlotte’s mother Mara, 41, twin sisters Beatrix and Alice, 2, and her grandmother Beverley Quinn. 74, were all murdered by Charlotte’s father Anthony Harvey, 24. Police alleged that the murder of Mara and the children happened just minutes after Mara’s late-night shift at the local Coles had ended that was only a three-minute drive from their Coode Street home.

Police also alleged that Mr Harvey murdered his daughters and wife with “a blunt object and knives.”

He then murdered Beverley Quinn the next morning when she arrived to assist in getting the children ready for the day like she did most mornings.

Floral tributes continue to grow outside the family home as people stop by to pay their respects for the victims.

One card read, “Your loss is a matter of great sorrow, your pain and heartache cannot even [be] imagined,”
