Summer is on our doorstep and it’s time to start thinking about our summer wardrobes. We caught up with mum-of-four, fashion lover and next.com.au ambassador, Bec Judd, to discover what she loves about an Australian summer and the key pieces she’ll be buying this season.
1. What does summer mean to you?
Days filled with warm sunshine and outdoor fun with the family.
2. Describe an ideal summer’s day with Chris and the kids.
Playing outdoors in the backyard or down by the beach, followed by a family BBQ. I really love having the family all together and being able to enjoy the warmer weather outdoors.
3. What’s your philosophy when it comes to summer dressing?
Keep it simple and mix classic looks with statement accessories or prints.
4. What are your summer wardrobe essentials?
A good pair of white sneakers for running around on the weekend, classic one piece for the beach and denim shorts.
5. How do you go about choosing the perfect summer dress?
It definitely depends on the occasion, but I would recommend a midi length dress which you can then dress up with heels for a fancy occasion or dress down with sneakers or flats for a more casual look during the day.
6. Are you a flats or heels girl?
Flats for when I am running around with four kids, there is no way I could keep up in heels! I do love getting dressed up for occasions and events, especially heading into the festive season which is when I’ll substitute the flats for heels.
7. What are your favourite pieces from the Next.com Summer Collection?
This stunning floral cold shoulder midi dress (perfect for any occasion), comfortable tan slides and this black and white polka dot wrap-around dress for something a little more casual.
8. Do you have any tips when it comes to choosing summer outfits for the kids?
I’d recommend buying items that are lightweight in material. I usually stock up on some new runners and plenty of t-shirts with fun prints on them for Oscar, versatile dresses for Billie and matching sets for Darcy and Tom.
