TV presenter Leila McKinnon revealed a before and after image of the detailed dental work that left her looking like she’d ‘had work done.’
Sharing the snaps to Instagram earlier this week, the news reader showcased the work of her 14 month procedure.
‘Who doesn’t love a good before and after photo? Why I had geriatric (ugh) orthodontics,’ she captioned the image. ‘How I ended up crying over a full bottle of gin. And my unexpected facelift.’
The 44-year-old has been open about the dental work which she says had the side effect of tightening her ‘ever-loosening jawline’ and made her appear younger.
‘I’ve had all my teeth moved, and in the process widened my smile, lifted my extra chin/neck gobble part…and tightened my ever-loosening jawline,’ she wrote in a colum for 9 Honey.
Her extensive dental work has been so transformative; Leila reveals people have been asking if she’s had work done. Leila also revealed the surgery, which included hooks being drilled under her cheekbones followed by another device placed into her ‘hard palate’, was traumatic and left her in tears.
‘I’m not going to lie. It was traumatic. I bought a bottle of gin on the way home, purely for medicinal purposes, and when I couldn’t get it open, I cried.’
Last year, Leila had to clear up speculation about her mysterious on-air lisp revealing she had lingual braces because she had lost the ‘ability to chew.’
