The ex-fiancé of Barnaby’s Joyce’s pregnant girlfriend, Vikki Campion, has denied that he is the father of her unborn child.
John Bergin has told the Daily Telegraph he separated from Campion months before she fell pregnant.
He told the newspaper, ‘I haven’t seen Vikki since late 2016, any suggestion that I am the father of Vikki’s child is incorrect.
‘I’m sure you can appreciate that I don’t have anything further to add.’
Barnaby Joyce claimed on the weekend that the paternity of his girlfriend’s child was a ‘grey area,’ as he was away for much of the time around conception.
The scandal of his affair with his former staffer cost Barnaby his position as leader of the Opposition and his position as deputy Prime Minister.
