Having taken to motherhood like Carrie Bradshaw to Manolo Blahnik shoes, speculation is rife that Sarah Jessica Parker is set to add another child to her adorable brood!
The exciting news comes as the actress’ former surrogate Michelle Ross – who gave birth to SJP and her husband Matthew Broderick’s twins Marion and Tabitha in 2009 – revealed she is once again preparing to be a surrogate.
‘When you are having your first visit with a new Dr and he’s crazy excited that you were a surrogate three times… And even more excited when you mention doing it one more time in a year or so,’ posted Michelle on Facebook.
‘And he complimented my uterus, so he’s a keeper. Only a surrogate knows the excited joy of hearing: “You have a perfect uterus.”’
If Michelle were to successfully deliver another child for SJP, it would make the 52-year-old actress one of the oldest celebrity women to welcome a new baby.
Already mum to James, 15, and twins Tabitha and Marion, eight, SJP has made no secret of how fulfilling motherhood has been for her.
‘There’s no sugar-coating it. It’s wonderful. It’s what we wanted. We didn’t want twins, but we wanted a bigger family and it’s a blessing. It’s a thrill,’ says the Sex And The City star.
And she’s also made no secret that, with seven siblings of her own, she’s always wanted to fill her home with a big brood.
‘I don’t know if we’re finished having children,’ she said, following the arrival of the twins. ‘I know that we’re lucky we could afford [surrogacy].’
Now, with Michelle back in contact with her surrogacy agency, Growing Generations, it appears SJP and Matthew’s chance at welcoming another child to their growing family has arrived.
At the time the couple announced they were having twins, using a surrogate in Hollywood generated a lot of headlines – however, it has since become accepted practice, with the likes of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Giuliana and Bill Rancic and most recently Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West all going down this route.
Now, with less stigma and having already shared such an emotional experience with Michelle, it would make sense for the couple to want her to surrogate for them again.
And while SJP does admit that she worries about her energy levels as an older mum when it comes to the day-to-day grind, she says she wouldn’t have it any other way.
‘We don’t have any live-in help,’ she says. ‘We’re pretty hands-on parents. That’s something that’s important to both of us, and we don’t shirk it, because what’s the point having a family if you’re not really going to participate in it, you know?’
