Pizza is healthier breakfast than cereal, nutritionist says

You don’t need to tell us twice.

It’s common knowledge that some cereals are basically sugar in flake form, so they’re not the best breakfast option out there. But one nutritionist has gone as far as to say that starting your day with a slice of pizza is a better choice than a bowl of the sweet stuff.

Chelsey Amer, a nutritionist based in New York, told The Daily Meal, “You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories.”

“Plus, a slice of pizza contains more fat and much less sugar than most cold cereals, so you will not experience a quick sugar crash.”

She also said that pizza also contains more protein, which will keep you fuller for longer throughout the day.

But before you put Dominos on speed dial, Amer does make clear that pizza isn’t the healthiest thing you can have for breakfast so you certainly shouldn’t be indulging every day.
