With their first baby due on Australia Day, former Hi-5 star – and now Getaway presenter – Charli Robinson and her partner, race-car driver Liam Talbot, were all set to stock up on baby goods at last year’s Boxing Day sales—instead, daughter Kensington Claire Talbot zoomed into their lives.
“It was such a whirlwind of a surprise,” Charli tells Pete Timbs on the Story of Us podcast. “We had nothing but beautiful wallpaper and a cot.”
It’s been a whirlwind romance too for the couple, who share details on he podcast about their serendipitous meeting in 2016, their “shock” miscarriage early on in the relationship and their marriage plans.
For now, the new parents are besotted with eight-week-old Kensington “Kensy” Claire Talbot, named after Liam’s late father, Ken.
“I didn’t think life could get any more amazing, but to have these two beautiful girls in my life, I just feel so lucky,” says the new dad. “I think things happen for a reason, at the right time, and if we’d met sooner we wouldn’t have this amazing little baby girl.”
In fact, Liam is already keen to be a father again, as he wasted no time in telling Charli: “The day after Kensi was born, I said to Charls, ‘Do you like babies?’ She said yes. I said, ‘Do you want to go halves on another one?’”
“Liam definitely wants one, like now,” laughs Charli. “But I’d like to space it out that I can get at least one glass of champagne in between!”
