Founded at the tail end of 2019 by social entrepreneur Dustin Leonard, Little Ripples set out with the goal of not only producing the best wine for each varietal but also funding clean water projects in developing countries.

According to the business, for every bottle of Little Ripples wine sold, one year of clean drinking water is provided to a person in a developing community.

To bring his vision to life, Dustin enlisted the help of Wendy Tisdell OAM of the BridgIT Water Foundation, who was able to help quantify the costs associated with providing someone in need with clean water for a full year.

“We really wanted to create a business that could alleviate the water crisis for people. But we knew we needed to find the right product,” Dustin has previously shared.

Fast forward to 2024, and Little Ripples sugar-free wine is delivering its world-class products to tens of thousands of Australians across the country, can be found on Lufthansa and Discover airlines, is available in international retailers in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the UAE, and is the preferred wine supplier for Accor Hotels.

According to Dustin, he believes that the business has been so successful since its launch as it helps consumers give back to a good cause.

“After every well we build, we get detailed reports from the BridgIT Water Foundation analysing the need and showing the impact of the well,” he says.

“The pictures and videos from the people whose lives have been changed help make it real.”

To date, 50 water wells have been constructed, providing over 500,000 people with 1 year of clean drinking water.

While the majority of Little Ripples wines are no sugar (including Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Rose, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Noir), the Sparkling and Prosecco and low-range alcohol range are still low sugar and vegan wines.
