Former Australian Rules Footballer Wayne Carey has split from his finance Stephanie Edwards, 14 years after his affair with teammate’s wife.
Carey’s manager Chris Giannopolous confirmed the break-up this morning in a statement, reports Fairfax Media.
‘It’s a family matter and they are still trying to sort out their issues… we’ve got no further comment to make at this stage.’
The couple have been together for five years and became engaged in September last year have a one-year-old daughter Charlotte Mila.
Carey has another daughter Ella, 10, with his ex-wife Sally.
In 2002, the former Kangaroos star vice-captain had an affair with Anthony Stevens’s wife, Kelli.
Carey originally reconciled with his wife, however they went their own ways shortly after Ella was born.
In an interview with the Herald Sun last year, Edwards addressed Carey’s cheating scandal.
‘I judge Wayne on my interaction with him and our life,” she told Page 13 in an exclusive interview.
‘It doesn’t affect how we live our lives or our relationship.’
The Daily Mail reports Edwards ended the relationship earlier this year, moving out of their home with Charlotte in April.
