The single mum and paramedic have made it work.

The Proposal debuted on Channel Seven last night, and for the first episode we got to see single-mum Jess fall head over heels for paramedic Nathan.

Prior to Nathan’s proposal, Jess looked nervous as she took her place in the ‘commitment ring’ before preparing to meet her eight suitors.

Her two daughters Ayla, 15 and Kailee, 13 were also sitting in the crowd for moral support.

From the get-go it seemed there were to clear frontrunners, “major spunk” Harrison –  a Wollongong based coal miner – and “sweetheart” Nathan who had “nice eyes”.

Thankfully for us, Jess chose Nathan.

“The whole thing was absolutely crazy,” Jess continued, “But it was the best decision we ever made and we’re so happy that we did it!”

It’s nice to see this couple still going strong, considering the proposal had Australia’s hearts melting last night.

“Coming into this, I never wanted to grow old and lonely and I know that resonates with you. The minute I heard your voice, I could tell what type of person you were and the qualities and attributes you have,” Nathan told Jess.

“I’m here to give you my all and give this a chance. When I thought I would propose to someone, I’d always imagined it in a traditional way.”

In an even cuter moved, Nathan turned to Jess’s two teen daughters to ask for their permission before he proposed to their mum.

After the giggles and nods of approval, Nathan sweetly said: “Will you do the honour of making all my dreams come true and marry me?”
