Katy Perry and Miranda Kerr
So, Katy Perry is Orlando Bloom’s fiancée, and Miranda Kerr is his ex-wife. And yet the pair were pictured at the 2023 G’Day USA Arts Gala in Los Angeles in January buddied-up together proving they are the ultimate modern besties. Katy even called Miranda her “Sister from another Mister” in an Instagram post from the night, sharing how much she loved their “modern family”.
Nicola Peltz Beckham and Selena Gomez
Ex-boyfriends in common seems to be a theme when it comes to celebrity pals. Both Nicola Peltz Beckham and Selena Gomez have dated Justin Bieber… The girls soft-launched their friendship last November with a sleepover-themed soiree where they hung out in matching PJs. They then took their friendship one step further when they shared pics to Instagram of their matching ‘angel’ tattoos.
Harry Styles and Lizzo
The first glimpse of their friendship came back in 2019 when Harry Styles covered Lizzo’s hit ‘Juice’ in a show for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge. Then, when they paired up in 2020 to perform it together, sparks flew! They’ve since hung out at the Grammys and Coachella, plus backstage at Harry’s concert, after which Lizzo tweeted pics of them fooling around and the message: “I had so much fun with Harry yesterday.”
Ed Sheeran and Courteney Cox
It started when a mutual friend invited Ed Sheeran to a party at Courteney Cox’s place in 2013. The friendship has since blossomed with the pair often joking around together, ‘performing’ on Instagram – they recently recorded a video of themselves recreating the famous Ross and Monica dance routine – and Ed even introed the TV star to her boyfriend, Johnny McDaid.
Kris Jenner and Jennifer Lawrence
The unlikely pals first met when Kardashians fan Jennifer Lawrence was surprised by Kris Jenner who gave her a cake on her birthday. They hit it off and since then the Kardashians momager has gone on to reveal she considers Jen to be her unofficial daughter telling Access Hollywood last year: “She’s such a good friend and I’m so proud of her. She’s like one of my kids. I’m so blessed to have her in my life.”
Russell Brand and Helen Mirren
British actors Russell Brand and Helen Mirren have shared a surprising friendship since meeting on set while filming The Tempest. And they really hit it off, with Russell dedicating a chapter of his biography Booky Wooky 2 to Helen, who he affectionately refers to as ‘Mummy Helen’. She loves her pal too, telling People, “He’s so cool. He’s fabulous. We’re really close friends.”
