The couple, who have been together, on-and-off, for eight years, have parted for good this time, according to Us Weekly.
And from the sound of it, Sleepless in Seattle actress Meg has “no regrets” and isn’t crying into her pillow over the break up.
The magazine’s insider revealed: “She’d had enough and ended [their engagement]. She has no regrets.”
After meeting in late 2010 then splitting in August 2014, the 56-year-old actress and her singer boyfriend, 68, rekindled their romance back in May 2017.
However it seems it’s now over for good for the couple.
Rumours the couple had hit another rocky patch began when Meg was seen without her engagement ring on Sunday at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 11th Annual Governors Awards in Hollywood.
Their breakup comes less than a year after Meg excitedly announced their engagement on her Instagram in November 2018.
“Engaged!” she posted, alongside an ink drawing of the couple holding hands.
Speaking in the August issue of InStyle, Meg admitted she was in no rush to walk down the aisle with John.
“I am happy,” said the blonde star.
“Yes, I’m going to get married at some point. But for now this engagement thing is a state of grace.”
