The celebrity chef made the shocking comments on Wednesday, when he admitted he had self-diagnosed Obsessive Compulsive Disorder [OCD].
He based his diagnosis on the fact he prefers a clean workspace and a colour-coded underwear drawer.
During the episode – which was filmed at George’s now closed restaurant, The Press Club – George walked over to Tessa’s work bench and became upset at the mess that she was creating.
“Keep wiping down guys. I want all of this mumbo jumbo sorted, yeah?” he told the contestants.
“Does this not confuse you?” George asked, pointing at her work bench.
“You know my underwear drawer at home is colour-coded.”
George then revealed he diagnosed himself with OCD, without consulting a doctor or psychiatrist.
“I have diagnosed myself this. [It’s] Never been done properly, but I know it,” he said.
“Everything has a place. We wipe, we clean, we look neat and tidy.”
It didn’t take long for fans to take to social media to slam the chef for his careless comments.
“George just doing WONDERS for the mental health community with his self-diagnosis there,” one wrote.
“Cool George, but liking things to be organised does not mean you’re OCD,” another scolded.
“Self-diagnosing with a serious and debilitating mental health condition because you like a clean kitchen is a s**tty thing to do,” was another comment.
