Last night, Australia tuned in for the final episode of MasterChef Australia, which resulted in Larissa Takchi winning Channel 10’s cooking competition.

After a tense cook-off against fellow contestants Simon Toohey and Tessa Boersma, the 22-year-old made a triumphant win.

While the MasterChef winner was ecstatic about her win, she said it was an anxiety-inducing process, telling 10-Daily that she was “paralysed in fear” after struggling to prepare her a Szechuan pavlova with beetroot.

“I was literally about to walk out, it was in my head, my face said it all. I was literally stepping towards the front to walk out,” said the restaurant manager.

Speaking to TV Week, Larissa described the challenge as one of the hardest ones on the show.

“I just didn’t know how any of us would get it done. It was borderline ridiculous!”

However, with the support of her family who cheered her on from the gallery, Larissa was able to shine through and seize the win.

“My family was sort of just right there in the corner and they were all just screaming at me like, ‘Don’t you dare, don’t you dare!'” the MasterChef winner said.

The 22-year-old has big plans for the future, stating that she’d like to use the prize money to eventually open a new restaurant.

“I am hoping my restaurant is up and coming by then. Originally I wanted to do a wine bar-restaurant, and I will be doing that very soon in my mum’s café, opening up dinner there. But I think I’ve got another dream which will be a long-term goal for me,” she told TV Week. “I want to buy a block of land in Dural and establish a restaurant there, so people can have that farm to table dining experience.”
