Shock jock Kyle Sandilands has gone on a rant over a stay at Sea World Nara Resort, Queensland, that happened over five years ago.
Speaking on KIIS 1065’s Kyle and Jackie O Show earlier this month, a caller named Nikki rang in to play the pop quiz and told Kyle the biggest thing she had won in her life so far was a trip to the Gold Coast.

“On the Gold Coast, where did they put you up?” co-host Jackie O asked, before Kyle cut in with his rant about a previous trip they both embarked on while they still worked at 2Day FM.
“Remember when you and I went to the Gold Coast once, Jackie?” he said.
“Oh, they put us up at the Sea World Nara Resort,” she said.
“Oh, and did I carry on like a bitch, didn’t I?” Kyle said.
“You did,” Jackie replied.
Kyle continued: “I was like, ‘excuse me, I don’t do astroturf as carpet.'”
Imitating Kyle, Jackie chimed in: “And I don’t stay anywhere where the bedspread matches the curtains.”
“That’s exactly what I said,” Kylie responded. “And then, we rang the radio station, the other s**t one we used to work for [2Day FM], and I went on and on and they said, ‘Oh, we can’t do anything about it’. And I said, ‘what we’re doing is, we’re packing up and we’re going to the Versace, b***h!’ And off we went. I took you with me.”
Jackie said: “I had memories of the Sea World Nara Resort being super fancy when I lived there.”
Despite Sea World being one of Australia’s most popular destinations, the radio duo also criticised what they claimed was loud aircon.
“Maybe they’ve improved it now, maybe they’ve given it a facelift,” Jackie said.
Kyle responded: “They might have. I don’t care how many bloody dolphins flip backward. I couldn’t stand the accommodation.”
After a producer shows them a picture of a premium king room, they both agree that it looks “much better” than when they were there.
However, when they are shown an “normal person’s room,” they both gasp in horror.
“It’s not my cup of tea, I’ll tell you that,” Kyle said. “I do like Sea World, nothing better than seeing trapped beautiful animals performing for everyone and their fat children, while they eat cake and lollies for a pilchard to be thrown their way.
“Nope, not for me. OK enough of my rant. Sorry about that everyone, I do tend to drag myself sideways when it comes to animals.”
New Idea has asked Sea World for comment.
