I’m A Celebrity star Keira has left camp mate Lisa Curry stunned and reassessing her opinion of the often-troubled former Bachelor star, after she today revealed the horrifying truth of her upbringing in a bizarre polygamous cult.
Speaking to the former swimming golden girl, Keira broke her silence on the facts of her disturbing and dysfunctional upbringing.
‘I don’t know if you know my story, but my mum was in a cult,’ Keira told Lisa, as reported in an episode preview on news.com.au.
‘My dad was the leader of it. There was like 63 children. You’ve got to remember there were nine wives.’
When a stunned Lisa clarified with Keira that there was just one father in the bizarre scenario, she explained, ‘Holy s**t!’
Keira offered, ‘ I didn’t know who my real mum was until I was like, six. I didn’t even know what a mum was.
‘I just knew that I wasn’t normal and I really didn’t like that.’]
Keira has stunned contestants with her often volatile and needy behaviour, which has sometimes seen her reduced to virtual hysteria. It remains to be seen if her heartbreaking revelation changes any minds about her sometimes troubling acting out.
