Johnny Ruffo has made an emotional tribute to the medical team who are trying to save his life as he fights a rare form of brain cancer.
The 29-year-old former X Factor contestant took to Instagram to share a photo of himself and the team, captioning: ‘These guys are the real stars, my amazing radiotherapy team.’
Ruffo is undergoing radiation treatment after being diagnosed with brain cancer back in August.
He has revealed that he went to hospital with a painful migraine, but doctors soon discovered a tumour causing pressure to the brain.
Surgeons operated but were only able to remove 95 per cent of the tumour meaning Ruffo has to endure a grueling six week regime of radiotherapy, and then six months of chemotherapy.
However, the former Home and Away star is remaining positive. He told New Idea in September that ‘by all accounts this responds really well to radiotherapy and chemo so they are pretty confident they can beat it, which is good news.’
