House Rules 2019 kicked off in a derelict warehouse on Sunday April 28 and this installment of the Channel 7 series promises to showcase the most modern and innovative designs Australia has ever seen.
This year, six teams will use their creative talents, determination and strategy to produce cutting edge houses which reflect the changing nature of Australian homes.
The teams – hailing from Victoria, South Australia, WA, New South Wales and Queensland – will have their efforts judged by award-winning designer and author Jamie Durie, British design guru Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Australia’s leading design expert Wendy Moore.
Here, New Idea gets to know this series’ hottest married couple Lisa & Andy!

Andy – a fireman – and Lisa – a flight attendant – only tied the knot last year and sound like they are still very much in the honeymoon stage of their relationship despite being in a relationship for 11 years.
“He’s a hero,” Lisa, 30, told Channel Seven of her hunky husband.
The air hostess has an eye for style and serious determination to win, but admitted people could underestimate her because of her “ditzy” personality.
“I am bubbly and fun. I can be quite carefree at times but I think design-wise I know what looks good,” she said.
Fitness fanatic Andy works out at least three times a week, while fellow exercise lover Lisa loves high impact cardio, Pilates and yoga.
The genetically-blessed duo also spend time chasing after their three babies, King Charles Cavaliers Calvin and Louie and cat Mika.
The Adelaide-based couple have been involved in one renovation before House Rules, and both believe they have what it takes to win the contest.
But to make it to the grand final they’ll need all the skills they can get, as they refer to their Adelaide home as a “1970s nightmare”.
The house comes decorated with a salmon coloured carpet, pink benches and old-fashioned tiles.
Lisa & Andy are up against five other House Rules teams: Victorian’s Pete & Courtney and Tim & Mat, Western Australia’s Mikaela & Eliza, New South Wales’ Katie & Alex and Queensland’s Shayn & Carly.
Now in its seventh year, House Rules has cemented itself as Australia’s favourite renovation show and one of the nation’s most loved reality shows along with Seven’s My Kitchen Rules and Channel 9’s Married At First Sight.
