The jury’s verdict is finally in. Will the much-loved Summer Bay stalwart be found guilty and have to farewell life as a free woman?

Earlier in the week, facing up to 25 years in jail, Irene is understandably on tenterhooks as she prepares to learn her fate.

“She is just beside herself,” says Lynne. “She knows there is a very strong possibility she could be going to jail.”

But, bravely determined to live out her possible final day of freedom in the happiest manner she can, Irene gathers all of her loved ones. She wants to host a dinner party at the Diner for her dearest friends and all who have supported her through this truly terrible time in her life.

As she expresses her gratitude to her friends, however, those who know Irene best can’t help but wonder if she is indeed coping as well as she seems.

As for Lynne, she reveals she will never forget filming the courtroom scenes on location in Sydney.

“They were quite gruelling to do, and I was on the stand for many of the scenes,” she says.

“It was a full-on day, but it was a great day. It absolutely felt extremely real and scary.

“We filmed in a beautiful old courtroom building, which really helped enhance the feeling of impending doom.”
