They’re two of Summer Bay’s longest-standing and most-loved residents.
Forever by each other’s sides sharing laughs in the Diner, Leah and Irene have always got along like a house on fire.

But what few don’t realise is that it’s also very much the case for their talented portrayers Ada Nicodemou and Lynne McGranger.
Hitting it off when Ada joined the show almost 20 years ago, and dressing-room buddies for a decade, the stars share a remarkable friendship that extends well beyond the studio.
“We instantly connected,” says Ada, “And we know each other really, really well.
“She’s a true friend and true friends do not come around that often.”
Over the years, Ada and Lynne have been there for each other through life’s highs and lows. “That goes without saying,” says Lynne simply, to which Ada adds: “That’s what friends are for.”
As both Ada and Lynne well know, their special bond is one to be cherished.
“I’m basically Ada’s mum’s age, but I’ve never thought of myself like that – I think she’s more of a mum to me than I am to her!” laughs Lynne, now in her 27th year with Home and Away. “Ada’s just very smart, wise, and she’s a great person
to go to for advice on something. She’s an absolute rock and I’ve been able to be a sounding board for her, too.”
Agrees Ada: “Lynne is such a young soul and we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We can also both be very honest with each other, and we know all of each other’s idiosyncrasies.”
