He’s one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood.
But Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s latest movie has left critics less than impressed.
Although Baywatch is set to hit cinemas on June 1, those who have had a sneak pic of the hit 90s TV show reboot have already slammed it on Rotten Tomatoes, with the flick currently sitting at just a 13 percent approval rating.
The Hollywood Reporter’s Frank Scheck dubs the movie “so lifeless and mechanical that even its end-credit outtakes are not amusing.”
Forbes writes that the move is “a crushing disappointment and a waste of quite a bit of talent,” while also remaining “shockingly unfunny and hopelessly bland.”
The New York Post concurs, adding: “It washes up on the beach like a dead whale.”
The poor reviews come as a blow to the star, who has previously proved his comedy acting chops in highly rated big screen ventures including The Other Guys and The Rundown.

But despite critics advising fans to give this one a miss, The Rock is insistent that the Baywatch movie lives up to its hype.
“People are going to be shocked that Baywatch has got dirty – but there are a lot of laughs,” he revealed in an interview with The Sun.
“We worked hard to make sure the flesh quota was high; there’s more gratuitous boobs, bums, abs, whatever per minute you can imagine.”
“Plot was important don’t get me wrong, but so was sorting out our slow-motion runs,” he added.
