Guy Sebastian has been slammed by The Voice Australia viewers on social media after he snubbed his former Australian Idol co-star, Rebecca Selley (née Tapia) when she performed in the blind auditions on Sunday night.
In fact, not only did 37-year-old Guy compete alongside Aussie singer Rebecca on the hit reality TV show back in 2003 – she also performed with the star during his 2009 ‘Live By Request’ tour.

Fans couldn’t contain their fury and lashed out at The Voice coach for ignoring his past connection to the contestant as she stood before him and fellow judges Boy George, Delta Goodrem and Kelly Rowland.
“Is no one going to bring up the fact that Rebecca Selley is none other than Guy Sebastian’s former competitor on Australian Idol, Rebecca Tapia?” one fan vented on Twitter.
Another tweeted: “So Rebecca was in the same season of Australian Idol as Guy and he is acting like he is meeting her for the first time?”
We all know the music industry is a tough world, and Rebecca seems to be in no rush to revisit her Idol past either, as there’s no mention of her previous stint on the vocal reality show on her official The Voice Australia bio.
Perhaps with the new season of The Voice she’s looking for a fresh start.
The 33-year-old singer eventually chose to join American pop legend, Kelly Rowland‘s team.
The Voice Australia 2019 continues on Channel Nine on Sunday evening at 7pm.
