Delta Goodrem rocked by sex scandal

She admits to being in tears over stunning revelations

She’s got a squeaky clean image that has helped her escape many of the tawdry dramas that have so often plagued some of her pop contemporaries.

But Delta Goodrem admits she was left shocked and in tears when an investigation by a team of researchers from hit show Who Do You Think You Are? unearthed a series of scandals in her family.

‘I could never have expected the twists and turns,’ Delta confessed to Australian Women’s Weekly of the show.

Chief among the eyebrow-raising moments was the revelation of a major sex scandal – her great grandmother Florence had a son from an outrageous affair with a key member of the Melbourne establishment – before she went on to work as a showgirl in the US.

But the man involved had a particularly unsavoury outcome – being disinherited after convictions for larceny and fraud. That particular revelation left Delta in tears, with the star admitting she ‘can’t deal’ with the knowledge one of her ancestors ‘preyed on small people.’
