David Arquette has opened up about his highly publicised divorce from Friends star Courtney Cox, confessing that while he was ready to announce their split, the famous television actress wasn’t ready to let go.
David and Courtney divorced after one daughter – Coco – and 11 years of marriage, and at the time Arquette told Howard Stern’s Sirius Satellite radio show the split was devastating: “It breaks my heart.
“[I] was not the one that called this [separation] in order.
“I’ve been begging Courteney to get back with me.”
Despite at the time saying he was “heartbroken”, David had appeared on the KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O show this morning to reveal he was felt ready to announce their split long before Courtney, and it took a woman selling a story for their divorce to go public.

“The public didn’t know I was separated at the time, and we had been separated for three months and finally it was like ‘ok’, I went out with one girl and she sold the story.
“And then it all blew up and I had to come out and say ‘we were separated’.”

Jackie O then empathetically replies: “Oh and I bet you weren’t ready to announce it”
Before David very pointedly says: “I was.”
David then goes on to explain how he has now settled down with a new family: “I have a new family, new wife, beautiful wife.”

“Two new young kids, and a 14-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.”
Talking about his kids, David – who has been known to have substance abuse issues in the past – revealed to Kyle and Jackie O that he as a ‘don’t Google daddy clause’: “It either falls in two sides.
“They’re either going to rebel and not be like you or they’ll take up your flaws.”
