The couple first met at the races in 2015 and have been inseparable ever since.
“Codie Lea is always happy, always smiling and the way she shows love to our daughter is just beautiful,” says Nathan. “I’ve loved Codie since the first day I met her. It’s made me a better man being with her and I just love how beautiful she is.”
He adds: “Marriage is a big thing for me, and I’d like to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. I want to set a great example of how a woman should be treated in life for my little baby girl.”
Codie Lea says she is grateful for the time the small family has together and says she appreciates her fiancé́ for his generosity and kindness.
“What I love about Nathan is he always puts others before him; he’s got a very caring heart.
“I’m just so excited to be spending the rest of my life with him and just moving on to that next step as a family. I love it, I’m so happy.”
However, Nathan’s mother Laurelle, 49 doesn’t share the sentiment and hasn’t seen her son in 18 months.
“The person who doesn’t support our relationship would be my mother. I think she is going to do everything in her power to make sure it doesn’t happen because she absolutely hates Codie Lea,” said Nathan.
“Codie Lea is a plastic barbie girl and I don’t think she’s human. Everything about her is false. Fake boobs, fake hair, fake eyelashes, fake lips,” says Laurelle.
“Codie Lea has taken my son and my granddaughter away and if she was on fire, I wouldn’t even spit on her.”
The rivalry began when a shaken Codie Lea woke to find her three-week-old daughter taken from her home without her permission.
Laurelle had been asked by Nathan to babysit, and as a result, took an unvaccinated Starr-Armani shopping.
Codie Lea believes Laurelle shouldn’t have taken Starr-Armani outside the home without permission and believes what she did was unacceptable.
“Not only have I not received an apology from her, she’s actively tried to make my life a lot harder,” says Codie Lea of the incident.
One of six children, Nathan, who now calls his mother by her first name believing she hasn’t shown the couple the respect they deserve.
“I hate her guts, I’m not going to lie, I do. I will do what it takes to see my granddaughter, but I’m not going to bow down to a 20-year-old plastic bitch!” says single-mother Laurelle.
Nathan wants an end to the conflict and would love to call her ‘mum’ again, but more importantly, have her attend their wedding day.
“I want my mum to accept our relationship because right now we don’t have a relationship with her. She doesn’t have a relationship with Starr-Armani, and we don’t want that for our daughter growing up.”
Can the couple gain her approval before their big day? Or, will Laurelle sabotage their wedding day before they even walk down the aisle?
