Megan Marx shocked reality TV fans when she announced that she was in a same-sex relationship with fellow Bachelor contestant Tiffany Scanlon, but now the model believes she’s experienced more pain as a result.
The 28-year-old spoke to Confidential and revealed that despite their break-up, she has struggled with the fact that her romance was disregarded and branded a publicity stunt.
“I don’t feel like people take my sexuality seriously,” said Marx.
“Being bisexual or sexually fluid, people automatically think it is a publicity stunt.”
Marx also mentions that she realises she’s not alone in this and has noticed a pattern in public reaction fellow female stars have received when they reveal they’re bisexual.
“Look at some of the most famous people in the world, people like Kristen Stewart or Cara Delevingne or Amber Heard, they’ve all struggled with this where they have a relationship with a woman and people question it.”
Marx and Scanlon – who met on last year’s series of the Channel 10 dating show – announced the news of their split in February.
The two were serious about their relationship, often boasting about their romance on social media and even opening up about their bond in men’s magazine Maxim.
Nowadays, the former-couple are no longer on speaking terms.
