“As a parent, I am happy to be able to give my support to a program that aims to help children learn more about the lives of other young people around the world, and connect … to each other,” the 44-year-old said in a statement.
She continued: “I hope it will help children find the information and tools they need to make a difference on the issues that matter to them, drawing on the BBC World Service’s network of thousands of journalists and multiple language services around the world.”
“There’s a gap in provision for young people who want to understand how the news is made and the values that stand behind it. They need the tools to distinguish the real from the false online, and the skills to think critically about information, wherever they encounter it,” Jamie Angus, director of the BBC World Service Group, said.
“Nurturing these abilities is the aim of ‘My World,’ and they’re crucial for today’s young people, not just for personal development but the future health of global democracy. The BBC World Service is uniquely placed to provide a truly global perspective on the biggest stories and themes of the day.”

Angelina shares Maddox, 18; Pax, 16; Zahara, 15; Shiloh, 13; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 11 with ex-husband, Brad Pitt.
Meanwhile, Pitt has seemingly taken a subtle dig at Jolie, while delivering his acceptance speech at the 26th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles.
The 56-year-old actor made the elusive remarks, while accepting the gong for Best Supporting Actor In A Movie for his role in Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood.

After thanking the usual suspects, including producers, directors and loved ones, Brad then cheekily referred to how he prepared for the movie role.
“Let’s be honest, it was a difficult part,” he began, before adding: “A guy who gets high, takes his shirt off and doesn’t get along with his wife…”

With a cheeky smile on his face, he continued: “It was a big stretch,” before the audience began to laugh, including Jennifer Aniston, who let out a “woo-hoo” while clapping.
