My Kitchen Rules history was made when some of the most memorable contestants returned to the competition.

And with them, they brought some juicy titbits about their time on the cooking show and beyond.

Beloved contestant Cowboy Robert revealed to New Idea a strange encounter he had with a female fan.

“We went to Perth or somewhere and we were doing a promo,” Robert recalls.

“We had just got in there and there were all these people lined up and this guy comes up to me and he says, ‘You see that woman over there, she’s been here for like three hours’ and she was standing there and she was holding this big box of candy and flowers and she came up to me and she said, ‘I’m your biggest fan’. And bless her heart it really humbled me.”

Villains turned favourites Ash and Camilla reveal what they were really like when the cameras stopped rolling.

“We were pretty competitive,” Ash says.

“There were a lot of people on the show that wanted to mingle and make friends but we just wanted to focus on perfecting sauces and puff pastry from scratch. We were very anti-social. We went on the show to win.”

Camilla adds: “But we didn’t.”

Friends Nic and Rocco were runners up in their season, however they say it wasn’t always easy when they were on the show, especially the Instant Restaurant round.

“The biggest shock for me was with the Instant Restaurants, you don’t get to pick your menu, you only find out that morning,” Rocco says.

“Because everyone thinks that you would practise it 100 times but no it’s on that morning you get told and off you go.

“And no recipes is tough. We gave 30 dishes and they design the menu around it.

“What was annoying is we cooked this three-course meal so many times, like the dog was even sick of it, and then we found out we don’t get to cook what we want.”

Since Queensland couple David and Corinne appeared on the show, fans were left wondering if they managed to make their relationship work.

It was revealed during their series that the couple – who have an age gap of more than 20 years – began their relationship as an affair.

“We’re very happy, we’re best friends,” David says.

“We’ve got three grandchildren, 12, eight and two weeks.

“Corinne and my kids get on so well. My daughter was born in 81, Corinne was born in 82, my son was born in 83. It’s all a bit spooky to by honest but they all get on famously.”
