The teenage son of Today host Karl Stefanovic has set the record straight on his father’s lavish Mexico wedding to Jasmine Yarbrough earlier this month.
On Dec. 17. New Idea reported Cassandra Thorburn as stating her three children did not attend her ex-husband’s wedding despite reports they had.
Thorburn claimed Jackson, 19, Ava, 13, and River, 12, were not present when their dad Karl wed fashion designer Jasmine, despite being in Mexico with him.
Speaking to Daily Mail, Jackson confirmed his mother’s claims.
“I didn’t go to the ceremony, I went to say congratulations [to Karl and Jasmine] after they’d all left the chapel but it was a lot later,” he said.
“My brother and sister didn’t want to go, and I was not going to leave them on their own so I looked after them.
“I figure at their age they may not have an understanding of watching a parent get re-married. They might not understand it’s just a parent moving on.”
Jackson also denied allegations that his girlfriend Anna Blackwell had been “kicked out” of the wedding.
“I left with my girlfriend and they said it was because we were too drunk which is just stupid,” Jackson told the outlet.
“We left because it was s**t.”
When the publication probed Jackson on his stepmother, he was a little less forthcoming.
“She’s nice, yeah. I don’t really know what else I can say,” he said.
Karl and Jasmine are yet to comment on Jackson’s latest comments.
