Catching up with former rugby league star Beau Ryan in Sydney last week, Jackie O appeared on edge. The duo’s coffee date comes just weeks after the radio star moved out of her family home and moved in to her own place after splitting from husband Lee Henderson.
Now, New Idea can reveal that not only could the radio host land a divorce settlement into the millions, but she may be forced to pay her estranged husband spousal maintenance, which occurs in circumstances where one party is unable to adequately support themselves post-separation.
According to an industry insider, Jackie takes home $6 million a year for her gig on KIIS FM’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show. On top of that, the 43-year-old and Lee also own a $6.7 million home in Vaucluse, in Sydney’s posh eastern suburbs, which they purchased back in 2012 after selling their country farmhouse on the South Coast of NSW for a reported $2.5 million.
“Jac is and has always been the breadwinner in the relationship, so there is no doubt Lee will struggle without her,” our source reveals.
“When she fell pregnant with Kitty the plan was always that Jac would go back to work and make the money and Lee would stay at home and look after Kitty, even though they could have easily afforded a nanny.”
The decision to be a working mum hasn’t always sat well with Jackie, who revealed in 2015 she struggled with work/life balance.
“The guilt is the worst part; when I feel I haven’t spent enough time with her,” she told website Mamamia.
