Earlier this month, Sophie Monk revealed that she had found love after striking out with her Bachelorette Australia winner Stu Laundy.
The Love Island Australia host has revealed plans to marry the marketing executive, who she met five months ago on a long-haul flight, “when his divorce goes through”.
Now, Joshua’s friend has claimed his marriage is the reason the couple have kept their romance under wraps for so long.
A source told Daily Mail, “Once they went public they hoped they could hide or try brush over the fact Joshua still legally had a wife, despite being separated when he met Sophie.”
“Joshua even deactivated and wiped his social media accounts months ago after they met including pictures from his wedding to try and keep it a bit of a secret.”
Sophie also spoke of her new relationship, claiming: “I have waited and gone through so much s**t to meet someone so good.”
When the couple first began dating, Sophie told the Kyle and Jackie O show that they kissed just hours after meeting on a flight.
“I’m sitting next to this random and it was business class but there was no divider,” she dished of the steamy meeting. “He was so charming and funny and he had no idea what I did.”
After sharing a few glasses of champagne together, Sophie decided to make a move.
“I was sitting there for a while and I went, “Hey, um, are you single?” She shares. “And he went, “Yeah.” I went, “I don’t ever get to meet people in normal scenarios and, um, can I kiss you?””
Thankfully, her new man was willing to oblige, and the pair went to the bathroom to brush their teeth before their steamy smooch. After all, no one likes bad breath!
