How to make six months worth of laundry powder for $5

A money-saving tip worthing trying.

A new podcast is changing the way people approach their finances.

The Pineapple Project with Claire Hooper, a comedian who is on a mission to teach people the money skills no one taught them.

In week 2, the project talks all things budgeting and how to cut costs.

Speaking to frugal mum, Jody Allen, the woman behind Stay at Home Mum blog, she offered up her top money-saving tips.

As well as knowing what you have in your pantry, meal planning and lay-buying meat straight from the farmers, Jody says making your own washing powder will save you a lot of money.

“It is really easy to make it at home you just get some lux flakes boiling water you beat the crap out of it you let it settle you beat it again,” Jody tells Claire, adding, “One little $5 box of luxe flakes will make you 6 months of laundry powder.”
