As her father claims she was 'possessed by demons.'

The father of the 9-month-old girl found dead on a Queensland beach has told police his daughter was ‘possessed by demons’, 7 News reports.

the 48-year-old man and his 23-year-old partner are still being questioned over the mysterious death of their young daughter.

The baby’s body was found at a Surfers Paradise beach at 12.30am on Monday.

It comes as police in New South Wales say they will seek the extradition of a 48-year-old man after it was established the girl’s death occurred there.

It is believed the girl died at the Jack Evans Boat Harbour at Tweed Heads and her body was swept 30kms north.

The child’s family, who were homeless, had lived for a time in Kingscliff, just inside NSW.

A local resident told The Gold Coast Bulletin she often heard the infant ‘crying in the night’ as she walked past their hut.

‘Why was the baby left with the parents, just why?’ they said.

Police are continuing to hold the baby girl’s parents in custody, but have not yet laid charges.
